Mathematics Lessons – 14 August 2013 (Wednesday)

The activities in the 3 lessons today – counting minion eyes, die problem game, fractions, have emphasize the crucial need to engage in  ‘hands-on’ learning in order for knowledge to be absorbed and enhanced. A critical realization happened to most of us (including me) in class as we see the obvious implication in understanding being displayed in concepts learnt. I find such lessons done in class to be very fruitful and impactful. I especially thought that the dice is a great resource to use as a start in math lesson for children to subitize.
